Event Details:

The Medical Technology Resource & Education Center in partnership with UT System Virtual Health Network hosted a conference on the intersection of health and technology.

The two day virtual conference, From Space to the South Pole: the Partnership of Medicine & Technology, provided educational sessions covering many aspects of technology in medical practice, from telemedicine to virtual reality to artificial intelligence to regulatory concerns.

Dr. Wari Allison and Ms. Andrea Rochat gave a presentation on "Transforming Health through Telementoring"

Learning Objectives

  • Describe the telementoring modality Extension for Community Healthcare Outcomes (ECHO®) and its diverse applications within health care as well as five other telementoring modalities whose use has increased during the COVID-19 pandemic.
  • Describe the new National Rural Telementoring Training Center (RTTC) and its strategy for utilizing quality measures and evaluation tools of technology-enabled mentoring to transform rural health education and workforce development.
